SHOCK IN THE BOX

The box is about 22 inches square and the head is life size! The head and the box lid automatically resets in preparation for its next performance.

More Spooky F/X product back stories to come!
"Little Jack Wiles"
Little Jack Wiles was the most quiet of boys,
who played all alone with his numerous toys.
His parents were entirely too busy all day
to visit other people with children to play.
To satisfy an impulse they adopted him.
But this youngster was not their only whim
Old money was what consumed their life.
Travel abroad for Mr. Wiles and his wife.
This was not so for the little boy Jack
His place was at home until they got back.
To oversee the boy they left an old maid.
But for her, love of children did long since fade.
They gave her money to purchased him toys.
Books, distractions and more hollow joys.
Jack learned to hate his many possessions
He soon realized they were all mere concessions.
Without moral guidance his heart grew black
The toys became victims of bitter attack.
Battered and broken each suffered in turn.
As fast as he got them they soon earned his spurn.
So many new toys were obtained by the maid
that too little attention to content was paid.
Things grab at random from here and from there.
Any shop she was in, she just did not care.
Toys not fitting for children his age,
books with unsuitable thoughts on its page.
One of these books was a grimoire that knew
what symbols of power could make wishes come true.
In his warped mind he hatched a dark plot
to transform the toys his parents had bought.
All the toys would become such terrible things.
Living examples form his horrible dreams.
Alas, his design had a serious flaw,
He himself a mere toy, purchased by law.
Jack became that which he tried to devise,
a demonic plaything, who could be more surprised?
With a
whirl and a click, the lid now unlocks
and up springs this ghastly shock in the box!

The
yard's actually been good enough the past couple of years that several
students
at the Brooks Institute of Photography have asked permission to take
extensive
shoots of the display
We
are progressing substantially with the "decor" and hope to make this
year's haunt
the
best ever, with your great props anchoring the entire scene.
In
2005, we added the "Corpse Leaper" with excellent results. The
ever-growing
throng
of neighbors coming by loved it! I was especially pleased with the
effect it
had
on one of neighborhood teen-age ruffian who claimed our yard didn't scare him
at
all:
when old "grandma" came flying and screaming out at him he literally
fell
backwards
into some shrubs and emerged with a much paler complextion!
Thanks
for being such a tremendous asset to our group.
Best

Hi
We just got the Leaper and wanted to let you know that this is one of the finest pneumatic scares I have ever used!
It showed up in great shape! Fantastic packing job and was so easy to setup, my 5 year old could do it.
But one thing I really wanted to point out that really impressed me was the control box for the prop. WOW, it is by far the best organized and functional system I have ever used in my over 20 years of haunting. You are setting new standards for haunt props.
After we got the prop set up, “just had to test it out!” we where stunned on how fast and effective this scare is and on only 25 PSI! Thank you very much on making a fantastic product and we look forward to years of use and buying more props from you.

Same person (Robert Lupo) sent this to us on November 8th 2005 after he used it in his 2005 Haunt:

Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you I'm having my best Halloween yet thanks to you guys. The people's favorite is the Jumping zombie. But I'm going to surprise every one with the Leaping Corpseon Halloween for the big scare, its my big secret. The Flailer gets positive results also (it is my favorite) I'm looking forward to next Halloween for my next round of shopping from you. I know you all are busy but just had to tell you your products are the best and looking forward to working with you next year
Thanks again

I just wanted to let you know I got the Leaper; and let me tell you I could not be happier with it. I have not had a chance to
scare anyone yet but I cant wait till I do. You guys did an awesome job with this.
I still cannot believe how fast it is at only 30psi. And the corpse is perfect. Great Job!

I was setting up the leaping corpse last night when a buddy stopped by to talk. He was in front of the leaping corpse (which I had blocked off at a safe distance). As I was talking to him, I eased over to the remote and set it off. Yelling his head off he jumped back two feet and drew his fist back as if he was going to punch it! It was the funniest damn thing you ever saw.

Subject: The effectiveness of the
LEAPING CORPSE concept.
I saw my first one of these at a professional haunt inside of a very large
nursery/pond store/garden shop. I KNEW ahead of time (from reading the posts
on the web) what it probably was and probably what would happen. I looked down
and saw the triggering device and again knew what it was for. It STILL made me jump! It
is a wonderful prop, a definite pant-wetter!
Date: 12/16/01 From: The Death Lord
It is more than just impressive.
If you have the space for it, it is awesome. The fist time I saw it was in
DarkWrath Keep. You walk down a corridor past some various displays and at an
intersection in the corridor, if I remember correctly, something off to your
left caught your attention, you would see a really scary looking ghost at the
end of it, some 10 feet away or so. Then immediately the ghost would fly toward
you and leap into the air about 7 or 8 feet high, stopping just in front of your
face. The entire ghost fully in flight the whole way. This is one of those
things that kills me that I don't have yet because of space limitations of my haunt!

I have been meaning to write you this letter since before
Halloween. I just wanted you to know that I received the Leaping Corpse I ordered from you in perfect condition.
In regard to the use of the Leaping Corpse, I can honestly say that it was a "frightful"
Halloween for all of our visitors. We have used many props over the years, but yours was
absolutely incredible. The look of terror on their faces when I activated the unit was beyond compare.
The most common reactions were ducking, running, and pants wetting. God you have to love this
Halloween thing, don't you? Anyway, we were extremely pleased with the quality and reliability of the unit. We will certainly be ordering again this year and we hope you keep up the good work for a long time to come. Our
Halloween visitors are counting on you. Good luck and thanks again for your wonderful products.

hearing from me soon. Hope you had a good Halloween.

Hi
Well,
here it is, February 3rd 2005 and it's better than Xmas. I
came
home from lunch with my wife today and my daughter tells me that
some
packages had arrived. I ran into the front room and there they
were.
It took no time at all for me to open my "presents".
I
have to hand it to you. I am very impressed. The corpse for the

teeth
being shown more. I can't wait for Halloween now. This is one
prop
that is going to scare the HELL out of people! I am going to set it

in my basement tomorrow and start planning where I'll use it. Heck,
I
might even take it to work and scare some guys. This is good stuff
and
I'm glad I bought from you.
Thanks

Perfect Storm Category 5
THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY WATTS CONTROLLER!
model #PSC5:

"The Perfect Storm" is a tempest that may happen only once in a century! It is a meteorologist’s colloquialism for a hurricane or typhoon created by a rare combination of factors. These storms are some of the strongest and most terrifying manifestations of nature's strength.
This Spooky F/X Lightning Show Controller comes with a special sound effects CD.
This Special CD has a selection of 9 different types of lighting storms:
Track 1… One Occasional Thunder Clap
Track 2… Distant slow Thunder *
Track 3… Rolling Thunder
Track 4… Thunder with long pauses
Track 5… Rain with Thunder
Track 6… Wind with Thunder
Track 7… Wind and Distant slow Thunder *
Track 8… Wind with One Occasional Thunder clap
Track 9…Rain with Wind and Thunder
* The light flashes and then after a few seconds the thunder booms. However this duration varies to make it sound like the lighting is moving in closer and then farther away.
Each track is about 5 minutes long. The duration between the claps of thunder is NOT repeated. Put another way, you would have to listen to the track for at least 10 minutes before you could hear a pattern in the duration between thunder strikes. Most of your audience will never detect a pattern because 5 minutes is too long to even try.
These custom-made sound effects are played using your CD player (not included) which is connected to the controller box by your CD player's HEAD PHONE output. You then connect the controller to your amplifier, or your amplified speaker system (not included) with the provided patch cable.
You can also connect it to your boom box or stereo system using a cassette player adapter (not included but easy to buy locally). Note: You must use our CD with this equipment, it will not work with a third party sound effects source. The CD is included in the purchase price.
This exclusive system is another great Spooky F/X innovated design. We have been selling the original Perfect Storm for many years on the internet.
This controller is designed to handle power well beyond all other lighting controllers in this price range.
CONTROLS 26 AMPS OF AC ELECTRICITY!
THAT IS 3120 WATTS!
AND unlike many other lightning controller units, the Perfect Storm Category 5 works with BOTH incandescent flood
lights
and /or strobe lights!
No other lighting controller at this price can handle this high number of amps at the same time!
And that means no other lighting controller at this price can handle the number of light bulbs or strobe lights that the Perfect Storm Category 5 from Spooky F/X can!
Our product, unlike other lightning controller units is NOT just a "color organ". It is designed to flash both incandescent and strobe lights in synchronization with the thunder but it is not effected at all by the wind and rain sounds!
You may use any standard screw-in base flood lamp available from your local hardware store. Both tungsten and halogen bulbs work, but halogen bulbs produce a more intense white light.
In most cases even normal household 60 or 100 watt light bulbs will work great because your spectators are normally in very low light levels. Thus, any sudden flash of a bright light will look like lightning. Using 100 watt bulbs will allow you to connect 31 bulbs (for 31 different locations in your Haunt) to the same controller. Or use FIVE photographers bulbs at 600 watts each! Or even a couple of 1500 watt bulbs!
One very good application is to mix different light sources to get a full and realistic lighting effect by mixing incandescent blue flood lights with flashing strobe lights.
This way you get the visual POP from the strobe yet the visual DECAY of the incandescent light. This Idea was sent to us by a customer. Using our Perfect Storm to work a combination of different types of lights is very cool and a clever use of our high power capacity lighting controller.
NO OTHER LIGHTNING CONTROLLER EVEN CLOSE TO THIS PRICE CAN DO WHAT THIS ONE CAN!
Cost is only $185 plus S&H
Normally The Perfect Storm can be delivered 6 weeks after payment is received.
But during our low rush periods Lighting Controllers will be delivered 2 to 3 weeks after we receive your payment.

machine that I bought from www.SpookyFX.com
and man is that thing cool. Those of you that don't have one have to get
one. The CD of sound effects that it comes with is awesome. We've barely
just begun to experiment with it and are blown away. Permanent grins on all
our faces as folks on the sidewalk jumped when the thunder struck. Didn't
hurt that we ran it through a 400 watt amplifier and hooked up a set of 200
watt speakers. My father's bringing huge powered subwoofers to hook to it
tomorrow so the neighbors on the other side of the cemetery can experience
the Perfect Storm as well.

Very nice job. I'm glad I went with yours as the microphone connection on those knock-offs would have been a disaster
in my application (and most others I would imagine).
Lt Col Brandon
Note from Spooky F/X: The microphone connection Brandon is referring to is many other company's lighting controllers connect to the sound effects. They use a microphone to listen to the sounds in the room. This is also sometimes called an AIR LINK.

I'm
very impressed with the SpookF/X's Perfect Storm.
I keep adding to it and haven't max'ed
it out yet. I mix three types of light for my effect (strobes, blue,
and incandescent with the clamp-on silver reflectors from Big Lots)
When you look at it in person it really looks great! Of
course a lot of loud bass with the thunder just brings it all together. By
hitting multiple senses more or less at once the crowd loves it.
You're really looking for the overall
combined effect, which is so good in person.
